Alpha Psi Alpha History
The Omaha alumnae club was installed as Alpha Psi Alpha national alumnae chapter at a tea held October 9, 1938 at the home of Leila Stahl Buffett (Mrs. Howard), Xi. Mrs. Donald Clark, Midwestern province president, was the installing officer; she was assisted by Mary Minor Jeary (Mrs. Clark) Xi, alumna adviser of Xi chapter, and Georgette Kinsey. Dorothy Jones Haber (Mrs. Max), Xi, president of the afternoon group of the club, accepted the charter. Twenty active and alumnae members from Lincoln attended the installation ceremonies.
At the tea which followed, the presidents of sixteen Panhellenic groups in Omaha were guests. Dale Pugh Hascall (Mrs. Vincent C.), Xi, first president, and Bess Rundall Ralph (Mrs. Roy A.), Gamma, first vice-president of the original alumnae club which was established in 1915, presided at the tea urns.
